More Metrobus

I still don't understand how Metrobus drivers need additional training to not mow down DC citizens but like it or not we are paying for their re-education.

I think the best approach would be to go through each drivers' file and see the complaints against them, as I am sure there are many.

The absolute best quote from the Post story you linked to is this gem from the new head of Metro (clearly Capt Obvious):

"John B. Catoe Jr., who took over Metro last month, detailed the measures last week in interviews with The Washington Post and sent a memo to all bus drivers stressing that "the cost of these tragedies . . . has been too high. We have to put an end to it now."

Has anyone on this blog every actually tried to call in a complaint about a Metrobus driver? I called the number on the back of one of those Metro Access vans who was driving like he was in a grand prix race, and I got a recording, and then was asked to hold...after 15 minutes, I hung up.

Seriously, Metro bus drivers are terrifying - their driving style is so uniform it makes me wonder if they are taught to run red lights and force their way into traffic whenever they feel like it.
